About TrackedTails

Most GPS tracker reviews read like they were written by someone who’s never actually strapped one to a dog. They repeat the manufacturer’s marketing copy, skip the details that actually matter, and rarely mention things like “waterproof” meaning something very different in practice than it does on the box.

TrackedTails exists to fix that.

I started this site after realizing how much conflicting, vague advice is out there for something that should be simple: keeping your dog safe and findable. A 40-gram tracker that’s barely noticeable on a Labrador can feel like a weighted collar on a 5-pound Chihuahua. A “no monthly fee” tracker can still cost more over three years than a subscription model, once you actually run the numbers. Nobody was laying that out clearly, so I decided to.

Every guide here focuses on the details that change your decision — weight relative to your dog’s size, real battery performance (not just the number on the box), and what a tracker actually costs over time, not just at checkout.

I’m not a veterinarian, and nothing here is medical advice — just practical, honest research to help you choose gear that actually works for your dog.
